Best Grand Canyon Airplane Tours...
The Top Flights From
Las Vegas & South Rim, Tusayan, AZ

Did you know that Grand Canyon West is comprised of 9,000 acres? How about Grand Canyon National Park being more than 1 million? That's a lot of ground to cover if you have just a day or two to explore the canyon. However, if you book an airplane tour, you'll get a chance to see in a couple of hours what would take a week on the ground.

That's why I'm a big fan of air tours and that's why I put together this list of the best Las Vegas plane tours to the Grand Canyon. This is the cream of the crop. Take a gander. If you're looking to fly (and more), I'm sure you'll find that trip on this page:

grand canyon airplane skywalk

Grand Canyon Airplane w/ Skywalk

Deplane at Grand Canyon West airfield and take complimentary shuttle to the Sky Walk, the internationally famous glass bridge that lets you strut 70 past the canyon's edge while being suspended 4,000 feet over the bottom. This is no ordinary Sky Walk pass - it's a VIP, which means you cut to the front of the line. No time limit on bridge. Like the basic airplane tour, this one, too, includes all-access pass to the Park.

#3
grand canyon airplane helicopter boat

Grand Canyon Airplane w/ Helicopter & Boat

The most comprehensive airplane landing tour on the market! Fly to the West Rim. Transfer to helicopter for 4,000-foot descent to the bottom (this is the only place in the entire Park where you can do this). Stroll 5 minutes to the dock and take a fabulous Colorado River boat ride. Fly back to top. Explore the rim's top lookouts and wander the Indian Cultural Center. Nothing comes close to this trip in terms of thrills and fun.

West Rim or South Rim?

From Las Vegas, you have two rims from which to choose: The West Rim and the South Rim. The West Rim is closer (120 miles) and is famous for its landing tours like the helicopter descent to the bottom. The South Rim is famous for its beauty; it's probably the one that you've seen in pictures.

Las Vegas to South Rim by Airplane
Prefer to see the South Rim? Go by plane. Takes just 45 minutes and includes 2.5-hour ground tour that takes in the best lookouts like Mather Point and Yavapai Observation Station. This is a fabulous air tour that lets you see nearly 3/4 of the Park. Click Las Vegas-South Rim airplane for more info.

All-Inclusive

For Las Vegas travelers, these air tours come with everything, including complimentary hotel pick up and drop off, grab-and-go-breakfast, lunch, and professional pilot/guide. If you are departing from South Rim, AZ, you must drive yourself to the airport.

RSVP

Grand Canyon airplane tours are incredibly popular. Don't bank on making last-minute reservations. Honestly, same-day bookings just don't happen that often, especially if you are flying in groups of two or more people. I say spare yourself the stress and reserve your seats no less than 3 days in advance.

Best Price

The Internet is the absolute best place to purchase plane tours. Prices are always bound to be cheaper and it's the #1 place where air tour operators post their best deals. I regularly save up to 35%, especially on West Rim flights.
