Best Las Vegas to Grand Canyon Airplane Tours...
Fabulous, Affordable Flights
to the West Rim & South Rim

Las Vegas Grand Canyon airplane tours are one of the most special ways to experience the canyon. Most travelers appreciate how fast planes transport them to the West Rim. Once they land, however, the realization is that there's a lot of fantastic things to do here at this stretch of the National Park that you can't do anywhere else. To help you determine which air-tour package is right for you, I've put together my list of the best three. Each is different and offers something unique and different for the discerning travelers. Take a look. I'm positive one of them will meet your sightseeing needs:

Skywalk Airplane

Don't see the canyon. Skywalk walk it! Gain VIP (no waiting!), unlimited access to the world-famous glass bridge, the structure that lets you traipse 70 feet past the lip of the canyon while being suspended a whopping 4,000 feet above its floor. After defying gravity, hop a free shuttle and explore the rest of Grand Canyon West, before settling into a genuine Hualapai Indian performance as you enjoy a delicious (and free) BBQ lunch.

All-Inclusive

These Vegas airplane tours are all-inclusive and come with everything, including free, round-trip hotel shuttle service, a grab-and-go breakfast, a BBQ lunch, all taxes and park fees and professionally guided ground tour. The only thing you need to bring with you is your sense of adventure.

The Flight Plan

Getting there is half the fun. Flights depart Las Vegas every day of the year and go over spectacular Lake Mead, iconic Hoover Dam, the new Hoover Dam Bypass, Fortification Hill and a stretch of pristine Mojave Desert before touching down at Grand Canyon West Airport. All in all, there's enough going below that you'll have your face pressed against the window the entire time.

Only at the West Rim

Here's a big deal: The West Rim is the only place where you can take a 4,000-foot helicopter ride to the bottom. These aircraft land on makeshift heliports that are approximately 300 yards from the legendary Colorado River. This is convenient because it allows you to upgrade your package to include a miraculous boat ride down the waterway that single-handedly created the canyon.

The Hualapai Tribe

The West Rim is located on the Hualapai Indian Reservation. When built out, Grand Canyon West will cover 9,000 acres of rim-side real estate. The main attraction is the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass bridge that lets travelers walk past the edge and "float" above the bottom. Future development includes hotels, restaurants and a cable car to the bottom.

Tips

Take a morning flight, especially in summer. The air is smooth and visibility is perfect during this time of the day. Book your Las Vegas airplane tour in advance. Try to reserve it three days or more in advance. Flights are popular and often sell out so getting ahead of the curve guarantees you get seats. Finally, book your air tour on the Internet. Prices are dramatically cheaper, and most tour operators post their best rates exclusively on their website.
